A favorote film

A favorite film

No doubt, a human becomes a personality under the influence of social and spiritual institutions. There are a lot of spirital institutions. They are school, culture, science and others. People form their moral values under the cultural influence. Culture as a spirital institution includes a lot of kinds of art like music, theatre, drawing, films and so on. I should say that there are a big amount of films' genres like documantary, fantasy, drama, melodrama, comedy, thriller etc. As for me, I prefer watching comedies but my favorite film has another genre.

Well, my favorite Russian film is called 'Rodina'. It is a drama-thriller connected with politics. I am going to tell you about a plot of the film.

So, the action starts in the plane where the millionaire and his daughter are quarelling. The father freeked out and landed from a private plane to Goa at night. When the man has thought again, he started to look for the girl but did not find her. I do not want to tell you all the details because I really want you to watch this masterpiece. I will just say that the girl was taken by the labirinth of human destinies. There are some stories of such different people who have really hard lives.

To sum up, I would like to recommend you the film 'Rodina' by Petr Buslov because of its deep meaning. This is one of the most interesting films I have ever seen.

a description of the picture 3

A description of the picture 3

It is common knowledge that there a lot of kinds of global problems. They are pollution in its many forms like water, air, nuclear ones, deforestation, extinct animals, overpopulation and others. One of the most common global problem is a so-called 'street' polution.

Well, as I am supposed to give a bried description of the picture, I would like to start with saying some words about action and location.

As you can see, the photo was taken in the city, in the street. At the background, there are really beautiful old buildings. They look like European houses, that is why I think that the location of the photo is Europe. So, also, I suppose that it is a huge city because there is a big line of the cars.

At the foreground, there is an enormous pile of garbage. As you can see, it is made of different material like plastic, paper, cardboard and so on. It is situated in the very centre of the street. It is really awful. It causes the pollution. No doubt, plastik negatively causes to the nature. It can decompose for millions of years, thus releasing to the atmosphere various harmful substances.

Also, we can see that people do not pay attention to this huge pile, that is why I can say that it is normal for them to have such a terrible pile of garbidge right in the street.

To sum up, I would like to say that humanity has to solve global ptoblems to save the planet and our lives.

Essay

Some people like to do only what they already do well. Other people prefer to try new things and take risks. What is your opinion?

It goes without saying that people make a lot of choices in their lives. For example, they choose to do only those things what they already do well or to try something new. The problem of making such choices is rather controversial. Some people prefer to do only what they already can, others like to try new things and take risks. However, I am going to express my opinion on the matter.

As for me, I like to do new things and thus to take risks. As for the reasons to try another, unfamiliar things, I would rather name three. Firstly, trying new things you cannot do expands your mind. Secondly, it allowes people to be erudite. And thirdly, it is extremely exciting to try something new.

However, there are people with another point of view. They prefer to do only what they do well. For a start, you cannot fail things you do perfect. In addition, people want to do just those things they know and understand. And finally, some people believe that doing something new is unnecessary.

Nevertheless, I disagree with that opinion. To begin with, there are a lot of deals that you do not know now but after you can do it perfectly. Moreover, I suppose that people who like to do only habitual things are afraid of obscurity.

To sum up, I would like to restate my point of view that trying new things and taking risks is rather better for all people because it expands you mind and allowes people to learn more. If you want to be an erudite person you should try and try new things.

Hope

Hope

Indian Ocean is the third largest in the area and depth of the Earth's ocean, which is about 20% of its water surface.  It ishes Asia, Africa and Australia and it borders Antarctica in the south. During the great discoveries in the 1500s, the Indian Ocean was given the status of one of the most important transport routes. First of all, this was due to the desire of Europeans to gain access to India, where jewelry, rice, cotton, chic fabrics and many other things were actively purchased. It is the Indian Ocean that connects the largest number of the most important ports in the world.

So, the ship "Hope" sailed from India to Dublin. A strong squall, accompanied by rain and fog, carried us far to the east. We fell into a drift and soon lost sight of the shore. Four days the storm whipped us. The sails were constantly torn, the deck began to leak and the sailors, who lived in constant damp, complained of colds, coughs and headaches.

The ship was crossing the Indian Ocean. Suddenly a storm began. It lasted several days when at last the wind died down. The captain and his people did not know where they were. There was  food on the ship but the people needed fresh water. Suddenly they saw a shore. Somebody cried, "Land!". It was an unknown country. The sailors took a boat and heated for the shore. There was no river where they landed, so the people began to look for fresh water and went into the depth of the forest.

We felt lonely and helpless in this wild forest country, located on the edge of the world. It seemed that the natives extincted. The shores of the Strait of Cook, still so recently littered with populous villages, were now empty and morose. Some strange rustling and voices came from the forest, as if unknown enemies were watching us from the thicket and waited only for the opportunity to attack and kill. And we tried as little as possible to move ashore.

But time was going, nothing has happened, and our fears dissipated. We got used to the sullen wildness of the coastal rocks, and when there were voices in the forest, we said that the birds were screaming.

Finally the ship was put in order, and we began to get ready to return. I wanted to collect fruits and vegetables to eat them in our long way back to home.

A thing that you don't want is dear at any price

A thing that you don't want is dear at any price

A thing that you don't want is dear at any price. Some people asked me what that proverb meant. Before I answer this question, I should first consider what a proverb is.

Proverbs mean short folk sayings with a cautionary meaning. They express the people's mind and experience, accumulated for many generations. According to proverbs, we can understand the values of the nations. Also, they show different aspects of people's lives.

Well, what does the proverb 'A thing that you do not want is dear at any price' mean? This is a warning for people who like to buy useless things if they are cheap. If you do not want a thing, however cheap it may be, it is dear because it is useless for you. How to use this proverb properly? I am going to explain it on an example.

Imagine two talking friends, Kate and Mary.

Kate: Oh my Gosh! Look at this amazing sale for a cage for birds! I want to buy it.
Mary: If I am not mistaken, you don't have a bird. Am I right?
Kate: Yes, that's true but this cage is so cheap... Where is a cashdesk?
Mary: A think that you don't want is dear at any price...

Well, I hope you understood what that proverb meant. Bear in mind, don't buy a thing you don't need just because of its cheapness.

A flu epidemic

A flu epidemic

It is common knowledge that nowadays there are a lot of dangerous infections in the world. They are a flu epidemic, ebola, pox and others.

Today I am going to tell you about really dangerous infection, a flu epidemic.

Flu is an infectious disease, the causative agent of which is the virus. The symptoms of it are heat, chills, fatigue, headache, runny nose or nasal congestion, cough and muscle pain.

Imagine, you have got a flue infection. What should you do? Firstly, you should stay at home and follow bed reat. Secondly, you are to call a doctor and follow all his advice. Thirdly, take medicines timely. And fourthly, drink a lot of water.

It is obvious that all people do not want to get this terrible, hardly bearable illness. That's why there are some tips which you can follow and chances of getting flu will decrease. For a start, eat as many products with vitamin C as you can. They are cranberry, lingonberry, lemon, orange and other fruits and berries. Moreover, wash your hands carefully and observe nose's hygiene. And last but not least, lead a healthy lifestyle. Nevertheless, the most effective prevention is a graft from flu.

There is a huge dangerous to people's lives because of flu. There are a lot of complications. For example, pneumonia, bronchitis, otitis, meningitis and many others.

To sum up, I would like to wish you great health. Take care of you and your health. As william Shakespeare said, health is more precious than gold.

Total topic of 2nd Module

Total topic of the second Module

  • It is common knowledge that people face with challenges in their lives. Challenge is an invitation to do something difficult, funny or embarrasing. In other meaning, it means a painful experience.
  • I am going to tell you about challenges in people's lives.
  • A lot of people ask themselves: 'What challenge am I looking for?' I  try to answer this question. If you're looking for the adventure of a lifetime, bungee jumping into the active volcano in Chile is definitely for you! If you are a fan of qiuz programmes, University Challenge is right for you! Speaking about dangerous challenges, there is an awesome opportunity to climb the mount Elbrus, which remains the highest mountain in Europe. Also sport movies can cause some changes inside your heart and make you challenge yourself, such as Cool Runnings which is  the movie about a man, starting Jamaica's first Olympic bobsledding team. According to the physical challenges, "training weekend" is the best way to try yourself in undertaking a mounts trek!
  • However, there are really painful experience. For example, the challenge of the Masai tribes. They live in the Serengeti. The name for it comes from the Masai word that means 'the place where the land runs on forever'. The Masai were once free to roam but now they are not. Since 1959 they've been confined to one small part of the Serengeti, the Ngorongo. In the past 50 years the Masai population increased from 10000 to 50000 people. The result is that there are too many people and too few resourses to support their traditional way of life. Large scale farming will affect the area's natural habitat. Also, it is worrying because of how it might affect the animals in the conservation areas. Moreover, yet the conservation authorities do not want to provide the Masai with a reliable water supply. This is because they do not want to encourage permanent settlements within the conservation area. The Masai are only allowed to live in the area as normands. The Masai have other ideas. They have no intention of being moved on again. Now it becomes obvious that the Masai are making the long, slow transition to a more modern way of life with the using of mobile phones and some kinds of technical things. The challenge of the Masai tribes was to survive on the small territory with a lack of water supply.
  • Nevertheless, there are challenges in nature, for examle, the Burning World. It describes a world in which water is scarce. After an extensive drought, rivers have turned to trickles and the earth have turned to dust, causing the world's population to head toward the oceans in a search of water. The drought is caused by industrial waste flushed into the ocean, which form an oxygen-permeable barrier of saturated long-chain polymers that prevents evaporation and destroys the precipitation cycle.
  • Well, to sum up, I would like to say that there are a lot of kinds of challenges like painful ones and challenges for fun. There are something in common between these two different challenges. Both must be overcome because it is a purpose of them.

                                                                                                                              12 April 2017
Dear Anna,

Thank you for your letter. Sorry for not writing earlier, I prepared for my exams.

Well, I would like to tell you about the book I began to read. This book is called 'Uncharted' written by Tracey Garvis Graves. It is a continuation of a novella 'On the Island'. I read 'On the Island' 4 month ago. It is the best book I have ever read. This novella is about thirty-year-old teacher Anna and 16-year-old T.J.  Anna Emerson is offered a job tutoring T.J. Callahan at his family's summer rental in the Maldives, she accepts without hesitation. The pilot of their seaplane suffers a fatal heart attack and crash-lands in the Indian Ocean. Anna and T.J. survived by a miracle. They were in shark-invested waters! They swam to the island, where they have lived for 3 years, until the plane found them. This is a wonderful lovestory. I do not want to tell you everything. I know that you are interested in novellas, I can send you this book in e-mail.

Sorry, I must stop hear and help my mom.

See you soon.

Best wishes,

Nadya

What is easier to write: English or Russian essays?

It goes without saying that essays play an important part in our writing. Students in Russian schools are to write essays in two subjects: English and Russian. I am going to tell you about these two essays.

So, most of people finds essay in Russian easier than in English. Firstly, they believe that writing in your native language is not extremely difficult. Secondly, you need just to have an arguement from literature for your topic. And thirdly, you can add phrases you khow about your topic.

But there are people who oppose such opinion. They think that it is easier to write an essay in English. For a start, you do not have to write arguements. Moreover, you improve your English skills writing essays in the global language. And last but not least, students usually have much more practice in writing English essays.

As for me, I think that writing English essays is rather easier than Russian essays. To begin with, you need just 200 words for writing while in Russian essay you need 300 words. Also, you do not have to give an example from literature in English essays, you can just use your knowledge and thoughts about your topic.

So, to sum up, I would like to say that tastes of people are individual. That's why there are some points of view about a simplicity of writing essays.
